Narayangadh- Muglin road opened after 11 hours
Ratnanagar (Chitwan) - The Narayangadh-Muglin section of the highway has opened for vehicular traffic from 8.05 am today after the mudslide debris at different points on that road sections was cleared.
Vehicular movement along the road section was halted since 9 pm Saturday as mudslide blocked the road at different points.
Engineer with the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project, Shiva Khanal said the road has been opened for two-way traffic and the vehicles have started heading towards their destinations. He added that it will take some more hours for normalization of the road traffic.
The District Police Office, Chitwan stated that mudslide debris at Char Kilo, Dui Kilo, Khahare and Kalikhola of Icchyakamana Rural Municipality-6 have been removed using dozers and the road opened for traffic.
Before this, the road was obstructed for 17 hours on Friday after a landslide near Kalikhola blocked the road. Two policemen were killed and two other police personnel and a van they were travelling in are still missing when the police van was swept away by the landslide.
