Dalit Liberation Front Demands Fair Investigation into Murder of 16-Year-Old Girl in Surkhet

Kathmandu. The Nepal Dalit Liberation Front has demanded that the government conduct an impartial investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Inisha B.K. in Surkhet and take legal action against the perpetrators.

A team led by organization chairman Daljit Shripali submitted a memorandum to Home Minister Omprakash Aryal on Sunday, demanding that those involved in the incident be brought under the purview of the law to ensure justice for the victim's family.

Furthermore, the Front drew the attention of the concerned bodies to take action against those involved in the incident and demanded an assessment of the physical and psychological damage incurred by the victim's family, seeking justice and appropriate compensation.

Receiving the memorandum, Minister Aryal committed that the incident would be investigated and the guilty parties would be brought under the legal framework. He also informed that the government is responsibly committed to ending impunity in the country, controlling all types of criminal incidents and undesirable activities, and maintaining peace and order.

B.K., a permanent resident of Gurbhakot Municipality-6, Surkhet, and currently residing in Birendranagar-1, was studying in Grade 11 at Usha Balbatika School when she was allegedly gang-raped and murdered.
