Nepal Oil Corporation Mandates Detailed Sales Records for LP Gas Distribution

Kathmandu. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has mandated that retailers must compulsorily maintain detailed records of the gas sold to consumers to further streamline the sale and distribution of LP gas. Furthermore, retailers have been urged to prioritize the sale and distribution of gas to consumers using it for domestic purposes.

In a press release issued on Saturday, the NOC stated that retailers must compulsorily record the consumer's name, contact number, and the quantity of gas sold during the transaction. It was also requested that this information be reported daily to the NOC through the respective industries.

According to the NOC, gas industries must also publicize the quantity of gas sold to retailers from their industry, along with the retailer's address and contact number. Industries have been directed to publicize this information by 10:00 AM every day and inform the NOC.

The NOC has requested gas industrialists and retailers to prioritize the sale and distribution of LP gas to consumers using it for domestic purposes. The press release issued by the NOC on Saturday stated that this arrangement has been made to reduce market inconvenience and create an environment where gas reaches genuine consumers smoothly.

The NOC also announced that, in view of the current situation and with the objective of organizing the LP gas supply and distribution system, gas industries have been arranged to make 14.2 kg LP gas cylinders available in the market at half price from Falgun 29 until further notice. Accordingly, consumers will receive gas at NPR 955 per cylinder.

The press release mentioned that while the ongoing war in the Middle East has caused a global impact on the supply of petroleum products and LP gas, the NOC has ensured that petroleum products and LP gas are supplied regularly and arrangements for sale and distribution have been made in Nepal.
