All Nepal Football Association Releases Final Candidate List for Central Committee Elections Amidst Legal Disputes

Kathmandu. The Election Committee of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has published the final list of candidates for the Central Committee elections scheduled for the year 2082 BS.

This final list for the central election has been published by disregarding the orders from the Patan High Court and the National Sports Council (NSC) which mandated holding staggered elections before proceeding with the central election.

The committee published the final list on Falgun 29, 2082 BS, after deciding on the appeals filed against the candidates. According to the published list, there will be a contest between two individuals for the post of President. Pankaj Bikram Nemwang and Dirgha Bahadur K.C. have filed nominations for the President post.

Similarly, three individuals have filed nominations for the post of one Senior Vice President. Dawa Lama, Sundar Narsingh Joshi, and Deepak Khatiwada are in the electoral field. Ten individuals have registered their candidacy for the four elected Vice President posts. The candidates for Vice President include Bikash Narayan Shrestha, Manish Joshi, Anil Malla, Pema Dolma Lama, Bishwanabikram Shah, Anil Shrestha, Uttam Raj Bhandari, Mahendra Chhetri, Vijay Ghale, and Ganesh Bahadur Chand.

A total of 28 candidates have filed nominations for the 13 member posts of the executive committee. Furthermore, four individuals have filed nominations for the 2 posts reserved for women. They are Sarila Shrestha Malek, Bindra Dewan, Kamala Hirachan Thakuri, and Lilamaya Thapa.

Along with the list of candidates, the ANFA Election Committee has also published the list of 88 representatives eligible to vote in the election. This election will select the leadership of Nepali football for the upcoming term.
