Clean Election Campaign Praises Government for Successful House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. The Clean Election Campaign has congratulated the Government of Nepal for the role it played in successfully conducting the House of Representatives Election 2082.

A delegation from the Campaign, including Bijay Raj Gautam, Chairman of the Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), and Indra Prasad Aryal, Chairman of the Nepal Human Rights Organization, met with Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at Singha Durbar on Friday to express gratitude for the significant role played in ensuring the House of Representatives Election (held on Falgun 21) was conducted peacefully, impartially, and in an organized manner.

The Campaign also expressed thanks and appreciation to the Government of Nepal and the Election Commission for their roles in making the election successful. On the occasion, Home Minister Aryal stated that the House of Representatives election was completed peacefully and enthusiastically, and he thanked all concerned parties for playing a significant role in this effort.

Minister Aryal further stated that taking the mandate through elections, which is an important practice of the democratic process, is the best aspect from a constitutional and legal perspective, and that significant achievements have been made in implementing the constitution and institutionalizing the rights obtained by the Nepali people through elections. 

The Campaign mentioned that the role played by the Ministry of Home Affairs in conducting the election peacefully, with dignity, and without fear, even in adverse circumstances, was commendable and has further strengthened citizens' faith in democracy.

The Clean Election Campaign mentioned in its letter of appreciation that since periodic elections are fundamental pillars of the democratic system of governance, the policy, administrative, and security arrangements and coordination made by the government to conduct such a sensitive national responsibility in an impartial, transparent, and reliable environment were praiseworthy.
