NRNA Begins Nomination Filing for 12th International General Convention

Kathmandu. The filing of nominations has begun for the election of the new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). Nominations are being accepted for the 12th International General Convention, scheduled to take place from Falgun 30 to Chaitra 2.

Considering the current situation following the 'Genji' movement, the NRNA has arranged for nominations to be filed online as well. Arrangements have been made for candidates to register their candidacy, either physically or online, for 74 positions during the International General Convention for a two-year term. The list of candidates will be published on Falgun 26, and objections against candidates can be raised until the 27th.

On the 27th itself, the scrutiny of candidate nominations and decisions on objections will take place. The second list of candidates will be published on Falgun 27. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on the 28th, and the final list of candidates will be published the same day.

On Falgun 28, the final list of candidates will be provided to the company conducting the elections via online means. Online voting will be open from Falgun 30 to Chaitra 1 for voting purposes outside of Nepal.

For voting through physical presence and online means within Nepal, voting will take place at Hotel The Soaltee from 1 PM to 6 PM on Chaitra 1. According to the NRNA, the 12th General Convention will be inaugurated by President Ramchandra Paudel. On the day of the inauguration, discussions will be held in four sessions covering topics such as foreign employment, youth, women, culture, and transformation. —News Agency Nepal
