Nepal Oil Corporation Directs Dealers to Maintain Transparent LPG Distribution Records

Kathmandu. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has directed industrialists and retailers to maintain records of the distribution of cooking gas to make the distribution system more transparent.

According to NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur, industrialists and retailers were called on Tuesday and instructed to tighten the gas distribution record system.

According to him, gas industrialists will now have to keep clear records of how much gas was sent to which retailer. Similarly, retailers will also be mandatory to keep details including the name and phone number of the consumer to whom the gas was sold. Spokesperson Thakur informed that the record-keeping system has been tightened due to increasing complaints that retailers hide gas by claiming it is unavailable to consumers even after receiving it from the industry.

The NOC has currently directed industrialists to prioritize 'domestic use' over hotel and industrial purposes while distributing gas. They have also been told not to hoard gas stock and to distribute it only based on need.
