Proportional Representation Vote Counting Nears Final Stage in House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. The vote counting for the proportional representation (PR) category under the House of Representatives election has reached its final stage. According to the Election Commission, 10,424,527 valid votes have been counted so far under the PR system.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which is leading in the first-past-the-post category, is also leading in the PR category. RSP has secured 5,030,168 votes in the proportional representation count.

Four parties have not yet crossed the threshold of one thousand votes in the proportional representation count.

According to the Election Commission, the Janapriya Loktantrik Party has received 899 votes so far.

Similarly, Miteri Party Nepal has received 748 votes, Unnata Loktantra Party has received 702 votes, and Trinamul Nepal Party has received 651 votes.

Fifty-seven political parties are listed for the proportional representation category. Among them, RSP Nepal, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Shram Sanskriti Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have crossed the threshold, meaning they have secured at least 3% of the votes in the ongoing count.
