Parts of Nepal Experience Moderate Rainfall Amid Shifting Weather Patterns

Kathmandu. Due to the partial influence of the Western Disturbance, a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, and a low-pressure trough near the eastern parts of Nepal in the lower atmosphere, the weather changed again, causing light to moderate rainfall in various districts today (Sunday).

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rainfall reached up to 36 millimeters on Monday. Department Spokesperson Dinkar Kayastha informed that the cloudy condition is expected to persist for a few more days.

According to the department's records, the highest rainfall in the last 12 hours today was recorded in Nawalparasi Bardaghat East at 36.6 millimeters, he informed. He added that Nawalparasi West received 28.4 millimeters and Tanahun received 30.2 millimeters of rain.

Kayastha stated that Rupandehi, Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk, Kaski, Myagdi, Baglung, and Dolpa received less than five millimeters of rain, while Dhankuta in the east recorded 5.2 millimeters of rainfall.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the department issued a bulletin this evening stating that tonight, the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, will generally experience cloud cover, while the remaining areas will have partial cloudiness.

Furthermore, there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in a few places in Gandaki Province, and in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, along with snowfall. Tomorrow (Tuesday), the entire country will generally remain cloudy.
