Former Education Minister Mahabir Pun Proposes Sushila Karki as Next President

Kathmandu. Former Education Minister and recently elected Member of the House of Representatives, Mahabir Pun, has proposed interim government head Sushila Karki as the next President. Issuing a video message on social media platform Facebook on Sunday, he publicly shared the view that Karki would be suitable for nomination as President.

Pun put forward this proposal in the context of the recently concluded House of Representatives elections where vote counting is underway and the Rastriya Swatantra Party is securing a large number of votes. He stated that Karki should be brought in for the position that will become vacant after the current President's term ends.

Pun said, 'She handled the leadership skillfully when the country was in a chaotic and critical state. Despite many doubts, she successfully conducted the elections. Recognizing her courage and leadership, it is appropriate to nominate a capable person like her for the post of President now.'
