CPN-UML Secures Three Seats in Sudurpashchim Province Federal Elections, Gains One Seat from Previous Polls

Dhangadhi. Out of the 16 constituencies for the House of Representatives in the Sudurpashchim Province, CPN-UML has secured victory in 3 seats. CPN-UML, which won 2 seats in the previous 2079 election, has increased its presence to 3 seats this time by adding one seat. However, CPN-UML lost 13 out of the 16 seats in the province, and the party drew a blank in elections in 6 districts.

According to this election's results, Ganesh Thagunna of CPN-UML won in Darchula by securing 18,891 votes. Similarly, Ain Mahar won in Bajhang with 18,543 votes.

Yagya Bogati secured another victory for CPN-UML in Achham Constituency No. 2 by obtaining 9,518 votes. CPN-UML candidates were defeated in all other constituencies except these three.

In the 2079 election, CPN-UML had won a total of 2 seats: Kanchanpur-1 and Baitadi. At that time, Tara Lama Tamang reached parliament from Kanchanpur-1 with 24,943 votes, and Damodar Bhandari from Baitadi with 33,611 votes.

Although CPN-UML succeeded in increasing its seat count by one compared to the previous election, it lost results in most districts.
