Football Players Lock Down ANFA Headquarters Amid Unresolved Demands

 Kathmandu. Football players have locked down the headquarters of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Led by the Nepal Football Players' Association, they padlocked the ANFA headquarters on Sunday. 

The association has been putting forth various demands against ANFA in a phased manner for a long time, concerning the welfare of football players and Nepali football as a whole. According to a statement issued by the association, the lockdown will continue until their 3-point demands are met, as their legitimate demands have been ignored despite repeated negotiations and street protests. 

Statement

The Nepal Football Players' Association has been raising various demands against ANFA in a phased manner for a long time for the benefit of football players and overall Nepali football. Due to ANFA ignoring our legitimate demands despite repeated negotiations and street protests, we have decided to lock down the headquarters of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) starting today until the following demands are met. 

Our Demands:

1) Certainty regarding the operation of the Martyrs Memorial Division League, which must include setting a date for the A Division (within the date promised by ANFA) 

2) Detailed information on the Players' Welfare Fund (including the 6.5 million rupees that should have been collected from a single tournament last year) 

3) Provision of players' salaries, allowances, and prize money (prizes since 2017 and regular salary: allowance: which was also passed by the current executive committee meeting.) 

Ultimately, if this lockdown imposed by the association is opened without the proper implementation of the mentioned demands, ANFA itself will be solely responsible for any resulting damages.
