Rastriya Swatantra Party Dominates Initial Results in Gandaki Province Elections

Pokhara. The final results for 11 out of 11 seats in Gandaki Province have been announced. Counting is still underway for the remaining 7 seats out of 18. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has emerged victorious in the majority of the seats whose results have been declared.

The RSP secured 8 seats, while the Nepali Congress won 2, and one independent candidate was victorious. In Manang and Mustang, Nepali Congress candidates won. Tek Bahadur Gurung won in Manang, and Yogesh Gauchan Thkali won in Mustang. Independent candidate Mahabir Pun was victorious in Myagdi. He secured the win with the support of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

From the RSP, Sushil Khadka won in Baglung-1, Som Sharma in Baglung-2, Sagar Bhusal in Parbat, Dr. Dhananjay Regmi in Syangja-1, Khadakraj Poudel (Ganesh) in Kaski-1, Uttam Prasad Poudel in Kaski-2, and Bina Gurung in Kaski-3. Dr. Swarnim Wagle won in Tanahun-1. In the 7 seats where counting has been completed, the RSP is leading everywhere, while in Syangja-2, CPN-UML's Khimbahadur Thapa maintains the lead.
