Vote Counting Underway in Jhapa-5; Independent Candidate Leads Over K.P. Sharma Oli

Jhapa. The counting of votes for the House of Representatives election in Jhapa Constituency No. 5 is ongoing. Out of the 106,372 total votes cast, 88,441 votes have been counted so far.

Balendra Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is in the lead with 55,934 votes. His closest rival, K.P. Sharma Oli of CPN-UML, has secured 15,409 votes. 

A crowd of RSP supporters has gathered outside the vote counting center. Duplicates of K.P. and Balen were also seen in the crowd.
