Independent Candidate Leads in Jhapa-5 Parliamentary Vote Count, Securing Substantial Lead Over K.P. Sharma Oli

Jhapa. The counting of votes for the House of Representatives election in Jhapa Constituency No. 5 is ongoing. Out of the 106,372 total votes cast, 88,441 votes have been counted so far.

Balen Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party is in the lead with 55,934 votes. His closest competitor, K.P. Sharma Oli of CPN-UML, has secured 15,409 votes. Based on this, Oli is currently trailing Balen by 40,525 votes. 

Currently, approximately 17,931 votes remain to be counted in Jhapa-5. As the counting enters its final phase, Balen's victory has become certain.
