Vote Counting to Begin in Sankhuwasabha After Weather Delays

 Kathmandu. Vote counting in Sankhuwasabha is set to commence today from 12:15 PM. According to the Chief Election Officer, Rajkumar Koirala, an all-party meeting held this morning agreed to start the counting process from 12:15 PM. 

Speaking with Ratopati, Koirala stated, “An agreement has been reached through the all-party meeting; we are starting the counting exactly from 12:15 PM.”

The all-party meeting was held this morning from 9:30 AM for about an hour and a half. The meeting was slightly delayed because representatives from some political parties arrived late.

Counting Delayed Due to Weather

The delay in starting the counting occurred because ballot boxes from remote areas of Sankhuwasabha had to be transported via helicopter. Due to bad weather, the helicopters could not fly on Friday, causing those ballot boxes to arrive at the Chief Election Officer's office only this morning (Saturday) at 8:30 AM.

“The ballot boxes that needed to be brought by helicopter could not arrive yesterday due to the weather; after they arrived this morning, we moved the process forward,” Koirala said.

The Election Officer's office has stated that all necessary preparations for the counting are now complete and the counting process will proceed based on the consensus reached by all parties.
