CPN-UML Leader Gyawali Concedes Defeat in Gulmi-1, Pledges Respect for People's Mandate

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Pradeep Gyawali has stated that although the results of the House of Representatives election were not as expected, the people's mandate will be respected.

Gyawali, who was the candidate for the House of Representatives from CPN-UML in Gulmi-1, expressed on social media platform Facebook, as the vote counting progressed, that in a democracy, the people's decision is supreme and the mandate will be respected.

‘The counting in Gulmi-1 is nearing its final stages. Advance congratulations to the victorious Sagar Dhakal and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)!’, Gyawali wrote, ‘Thanks to the Chief Election Officer, Chief District Officer, and all security personnel and staff for conducting the election peacefully and healthily. Deep affection and respect to all comrades who worked tirelessly during the election. This result was not expected. But in a democracy, the people's decision is supreme. Therefore, the mandate is respected.’ 

He further stated that he will always be there to support the development of the district and the joys and sorrows of the district residents, adding that these difficult days will also pass.
