CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel Concedes Defeat, Congratulates RSP Candidate

Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has conceded defeat and congratulated the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Bipin Kumar Acharya. Pokhrel extended his congratulations to Acharya via social media on Saturday. He stated that his defeat came in the face of a wave of 'change'.

'During this election, the party leaders and cadres worked very hard in the constituency where I was a candidate. Well-wishers and relatives also provided equal support. However, our efforts could not succeed against the wave of 'change'. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the campaign', he wrote.

He mentioned that the mandate of the election went in favor of the RSP, and the people gave their mandate with the belief that something might happen with the new leadership. He wished the future Prime Minister Balen Shah success in moving forward according to the people's trust.

'Best wishes for the success of the work to all the representatives who won, including the party's proposed Prime Ministerial candidate Balen Shah, to move forward in line with the people's trust', he said.
