Rabi Lamichhane Secures Hat-Trick Victory in Chitwan-2 Constituency

Bharatpur. Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has completed a hat-trick by achieving a resounding victory in the Chitwan Constituency Number 2 for the House of Representatives. According to the final vote count published on Saturday, Lamichhane secured his return to parliament by defeating his closest competitor by a significant margin.

According to the Election Officer's office, Lamichhane received 54,402 votes. His closest rival, Mina Kharel of the Nepali Congress, secured only 14,564 votes. The vote difference between Lamichhane and Kharel stands at 39,838.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Asmin Ghimire received 6,992 votes, while Pratap Gurung of the CPN settled for 4,969 votes. A total of 87,028 votes were counted in Chitwan-2.

Previously, in the general election of 2079 BS, Lamichhane had won by a margin of 34,281 votes, securing 49,300 votes. At that time, he defeated Umesh Shrestha of the Congress. However, after losing his position due to a citizenship dispute, he also achieved a massive victory in the by-election held in Baisakh 2080 BS, securing 54,176 votes.

In the by-election, Jitanarayan Shrestha of the Congress received 11,214 votes, and Ramprasad Neupane of the UML received 10,936 votes.
