Rastriya Swatantra Party Takes Lead in Ongoing House of Representatives Election Vote Counting

Kathmandu. The vote counting for the House of Representatives election held on Thursday is underway. In more than 50 constituencies where counting is ongoing, candidates from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) are maintaining a significant lead, while candidates from parties including UML, Congress, and CPN are trailing far behind in the counting. If this trend of voter preference remains consistent in other constituencies until the end, it indicates that the RSP may secure a majority.

Ratopati sought reactions from leaders of the Congress, UML, and CPN regarding the initial counting results. Leaders from all three parties have stated that they will accept the results expressed by the public mandate.

UML leader and Election Publicity Coordinator, Min Bahadur Shahi, stated that they accept the results emerging from the democratic practice and process and will move forward by formulating strategies for the future.
'The result expressed by the people's mandate is acceptable to us,' Shahi said, 'Since the vote counting is in its initial stages, there is no need to pass judgment yet. Nevertheless, we accept the result emerging from the democratic practice and process, and strategies will be formulated for the future.'

Similarly, CPN leader Dev Gurung asserted that such a result is natural in an election conducted according to a sponsored strategy. 'The election was held when political parties were displaced and weakened after the Gen Z movement. A serious review will take place after the final election results arrive,' Gurung said. 'Such a result is natural in an election conducted according to a sponsored strategy.'

Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has accepted the voters' verdict in the House of Representatives election. Vice President Sharma mentioned on the social media platform X that there will be both support and vigilance regarding the country's fundamental issues.

Sharma wrote on X on Friday morning as the results started coming in, 'The voters' verdict is acceptable. Welcome to the Maoist party that emerged from the bullet, and welcome to the RSP that is emerging from the ballot. In terms of the indications from 2079 BS, this is not unexpected. Intense hope should not turn into another disappointment; there will be both support and vigilance on the country's fundamental issues.'
