Iran's IRGC Claims Downing US Fighter Jet; US Military Denies Report

Tehran. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have shot down an American fighter jet. According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the IRGC stated that it targeted and downed a US F-15E Strike Fighter near Iran's southwestern border.

Tasnim, citing the IRGC, claimed that the two-seater fighter jet was targeted and shot down. However, clear information regarding when the incident occurred has not been provided.

Meanwhile, the US military has completely denied Iran's claim. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) responded on the social media platform X, stating that the news about an American F-15E aircraft being shot down in Iran is baseless and false. CENTCOM wrote in the post,

‘The rumors circulating on social media that a US F-15E aircraft crashed in Iran on Wednesday morning are completely false.’
