Government Employee Killed in Tipper Collision in Kathmandu's New Baneshwor

Kathmandu. A government employee has died after being hit by a tipper truck in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Badri Koirala, who was riding a scooter, died after being hit by a tipper truck with license plate Ba.2 Ka 3229, which was heading from Bijulibazar towards Tinkune on Tuesday morning, SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range Kathmandu told Ratopati.

The 48-year-old Koirala, a resident of Lokanthali in Bhaktapur, was originally from Inaruwa Municipality-5, Sunsari. He worked as a Non-Gazetted Officer (NASU) at the Tuberculosis Center in Bhaktapur. The tipper truck struck the scooter with license plate Prades-3-001 Ba.945, which Koirala was driving.

Police have arrested the tipper driver, 26-year-old Bikash Thapamagar, a resident of Bhumlichok, Gorkha. SP Bhattarai informed that the tipper was being used for garbage collection. Police are investigating the incident.
