NRNA Revises Election Schedule Amidst Middle East Developments

Kathmandu. The election schedule for the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been revised.

According to the Election Committee, the NRNA's election schedule has been amended taking into consideration the latest developments in the Middle East. The Election Committee has also arranged for the facility to register candidacies online.

The committee announced that the schedule has been adjusted to allow candidates, their proposers, and supporters to arrive in Nepal by March 12 for verification.

Furthermore, it was stated that discussions are ongoing within the Election Committee regarding the provision that proposers and supporters for regional office bearers can be from other regions as well.

Meanwhile, the preliminary voter list for the NRNA's 12th Grand Unity International General Assembly and election purpose has been published. The office of the Election Committee, Baluwatar, has published the preliminary voter list for the elections to be held on Falgun 30 and Chaitra 1, under the General Assembly scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from Falgun 30 to Chaitra 2.

It has been informed that the preliminary voter list can be viewed on the notice board of the Election Committee and the official website of the Association. However, some NRNS have expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that the preliminary voter list was published unilaterally.
