Iranian President Declares Assassination of Supreme Leader an 'Open War' Against Muslims

Tehran. Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the assassination of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, constitutes an open war against Muslims worldwide, especially the Shia community.

In a statement released via the official Telegram channel of the Iranian government, President Pezeshkian asserted that it is Iran's legitimate duty and right to retaliate against the planners and executors of this historic crime.

He added that Iran will make every possible effort to fulfill its responsibility to avenge the bloodshed. President Pezeshkian's warning comes as tensions escalate in the Middle East following Khamenei's assassination.

On Saturday, the United States and Israel conducted a joint operation against Iran. During this operation, Khamenei and several other senior figures were killed. Among the deceased were Khamenei's daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and grandson.
