Senior Iranian Figures, Including Supreme Leader Khamenei, Reportedly Killed in US-Israel Attack

Tehran. It has been confirmed that several senior figures in Iran were killed in the attack carried out by the United States and Israel on Saturday. Among those killed is Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Khamenei is reported to have died Saturday morning at his own office. According to Iranian television, the head of the country's armed forces, Abdolrahim Mousavi, was also killed in the airstrike.

Tehran also confirmed the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guards (Revolutionary Guard) Commander General Mohammad Pakpour. State media outlets reported that Khamenei's daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren were also killed in the same attack. 

Intelligence and military sources told CBS News that an estimated total of about 40 Iranian officials were killed in the attacks.
