Nearly 3,000 Temporary Voters Registered in Banke District

Nepalgunj. A total of 2,930 temporary voters have been registered in Banke. This information was provided today at an interaction program on 'Elections and Mass Media' organized by the District Election Office here.

The Chief of the Office, Tek Bahadur Shahi, informed that three temporary polling stations have also been designated in the district for temporary voters. He stated that temporary polling stations have been set up at Naowasta Prison in Constituency No. 1, Banke Prison in Constituency No. 2, and at the Ramlila Ground for employees.

Temporary voters are entitled to cast their votes under the Proportional Representation system from the designated temporary polling stations. Employees working for the Government of Nepal, Provincial Government, local level, or institutions owned and controlled by the Government of Nepal and Provincial Government, members of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, or Armed Police Force, inmates or prisoners in jails, and individuals residing in old age homes are considered temporary voters.

Office Chief Shahi informed that almost all preparations for the election have been completed and the process of sending election materials to all constituencies will begin on Saturday. "About 10 percent of the work remains. The process of sending election materials to all three constituencies in the district will continue until the 17th. The training for the Polling Officers and Assistant Polling Officers to be deployed in the district has also been completed," he said.

The district has 139 polling stations, 400 polling centers, and 350,371 voters.
