Nepali Congress Leader Bimalendra Nidhi Stresses Need to Correct the Course of the Constitution

Dhanusha. Nepali Congress leader and candidate for the House of Representatives from Dhanusha Constituency No. 3, Bimalendra Nidhi, stated that bringing the constitution onto the right track is the foremost national responsibility at present.

Speaking at a press conference in Janakpurdham on Friday, he expressed concern over the political instability in the country, growing dissatisfaction with the system, and shortcomings seen in the effective implementation of the federal structure, emphasizing that all political forces must unite to bring the constitution 'on track'.

Leader Nidhi stated that strengthening coordination between the federal, provincial, and local levels is necessary to remove the complexities seen in the implementation of the constitution. "The constitution is an excellent document, but honesty and commitment are essential in its implementation," he said, "We must work according to the spirit of the constitution to ensure the rights of the people and accelerate development."

Leader Nidhi emphasized moving forward by institutionalizing federalism, inclusivity, secularism, and democratic republicanism, expressing the view that attention should be paid to the successful implementation of the constitution rather than making unnecessary comments about it.

"There is a need to prioritize good governance, transparency, and accountability, but 'economic prosperity is not possible without political stability. Therefore, a culture of consensus and cooperation should be developed among the parties. Change must be institutionalized,'" he said.

In response to journalists' queries, leader Nidhi expressed the view that everyone must move forward together on issues such as development construction, job creation, and agricultural modernization in Madhesh Province. He urged all three tiers of government to be sensitive to this.
