CPN-UML Leader Ishwar Pokhrel Prioritizes Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Construction in Kathmandu Constituency 5

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokhrel, a candidate in the House of Representatives election from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5, has prioritized the construction of the Tokha-Chhahare Tunnel Road.

In the commitment paper he publicly released, he put forward a plan to study the archaeological and cultural aspects of Handigaun, the ancient Lichhavi capital, and develop it as a center for revival and cultural tourism.

He has also presented a plan to develop the Budhanilkantha Temple as an international religious tourism destination, construct the Budhanilkantha-Wagdwara-Chisapani-Gosainkunda trekking route, and expand community 'homestays' in Tamang settlements.

The commitment paper also mentions plans to develop religious and cultural heritage sites in Tokha, including Sapantirtha and Chandeshwori Temple, into tourist destinations, and to expand market access for Tokha's 'Chaku' (a local sweet) internationally.

According to the commitment paper, he has emphasized the promotion and preservation of cultural festivals, local arts, culture, and the Tamang and Nepal Bhasa languages in Handigaun, Tundaldevi, Dharampur, Budhanilkantha, Dhapasi, and Tokha.

Leader Pokhrel has also prioritized drinking water, sewage system, solid waste management, public transportation, and park construction in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Budhanilkantha, and Tokha Municipalities.
