Independent Candidate Denies Nepali Congress Offer of Posts Amid Election Campaign

Tanahun. Independent candidate for the House of Representatives from Tanahun Constituency-1, Deepak Raj Joshi, has termed the rumors circulating that the Nepali Congress offered him various positions as completely baseless and misleading. He strongly objected to the talk that Congress leaders and candidates themselves offered him the responsibility of Mayor of Bhanu or Byas Municipality or a Provincial Assembly member position to bring him into the party during the door-to-door campaign.

Issuing a statement, Joshi clarified that no such formal or informal offer or discussion took place. Joshi labeled the past decision by the Congress that his role would only be discussed after their party's candidate wins as 'deceptive'.

He argued that binding the people's mandate with conditions and linking an individual's political existence to electoral results is not a democratic practice but merely strategic pressure. Expressing his resolve that such transactional politics will not resolve any problem, he made it clear that he is not tempted by any position or opportunity.

Joshi emphasized that politics should be based on transparency, principles, and public trust, not on deceit, false promises, and credit-based transactions. He stated that old issues are being sensationalized for propaganda to confuse and mislead voters as the election approaches.

Stating that he has been struggling for clean, alternative, and people-oriented politics for the past 20 years, he committed that this fight for truth and principles will continue in the days to come. Independent candidate Joshi urged his voters and well-wishers not to be swayed by such deceptive propaganda.
