Prime Minister Sushila Karki Visits Lumbini, Offers Prayers at Mayadevi Temple

 Butwal. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has arrived in Lumbini. She performed puja and offerings at the Mayadevi Temple today. Upon her arrival in Lumbini, she was welcomed by officials including Deepak Shrestha, the member-secretary of the Lumbini Development Trust.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki inquired about the historical and religious significance of the birthplace of Lord Buddha and emphasized the need to make conservation efforts more systematic and effective. She mentioned that Lumbini is a shared heritage not just of Nepal but of the entire world, stating that its development must keep originality, peace, and religious tolerance at the center.

The government is committed to effectively implementing the long-term master plan by coordinating among the Lumbini Development Trust, the local community, and stakeholders, as clarified by Trust member Shyam Roka.

The officials of the Trust briefed the Prime Minister about the development works carried out so far, future plans, and the challenges faced. The Prime Minister expressed interest in these matters and assured that necessary policy and structural support would be provided by the government.

It is reported that Prime Minister Karki is scheduled to participate in a provincial-level security seminar organized in Rupandehi today.
