Prime Minister Karki Expresses High Concern Over Security Preparedness for Upcoming Federal Elections in Gandaki Province

Kaski. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed high-level concern regarding the security situation and preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. While in Pokhara to attend the 21st Convocation Ceremony of Pokhara University, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to receive detailed information about the province's peace, security, and election-focused preparations.

During the discussion, Provincial Chief Secretary Dunduraj Ghimire, heads of provincial security agencies, Kaski Chief District Officer Rudradevi Sharma, Chief Election Officer Himlal Belbase, and Provincial Election Officer Narayan Dhakal briefed the Prime Minister on the technical and security aspects of the election. The heads of the security agencies presented a detailed account of the steps taken to ensure the elections are conducted in a fear-free and impartial environment.

According to Provincial Chief Secretary Ghimire, the Prime Minister closely reviewed the activities being carried out by the election cell, which includes the security mechanism active in the province, and the progress made so far. On the occasion, the Prime Minister directed that no stone be left unturned to make the election secure and also provided guidance on the necessary security strategy. She emphasized the need to maintain high alert in all districts of the province and to further activate the election cell, considering the increasing security sensitivity as the elections draw nearer.
