CCTV Cameras to Be Installed at All Polling Stations in Parsa District for Upcoming Elections

Kathmandu. A decision has been made to install Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at polling stations in Parsa district. SP Naresh Subedi, deployed for conducting the elections in Parsa, informed Ratopati that the decision to install CCTV in all polling stations was made to ensure the elections scheduled for Falgun 21 are conducted in a fair and fear-free environment. According to him, a decision has been made to install CCTV in all polling stations by Falgun 17.

An agreement has been reached where the Rural Municipalities, Municipalities, and Metropolitan Cities will arrange for the CCTV installation, and security agencies will monitor them. Once the CCTV is installed, police personnel will monitor the activities from the control room located at the respective polling station. SP Subedi stated, 'There has been an agreement that local bodies will install the CCTV and security agencies will conduct the monitoring.'

Parsa has 167 polling stations and 441 polling centers. Parsa district has 4 electoral constituencies.
