Aarambha College Secures Top Results in Chitwan, Aims for University Gold Medals

Bharatpur. Similar to previous years, Aarambha College has once again achieved excellent results this year, securing the first and second positions in Chitwan. Aarambha College, located in Bharatpur, Chitwan, which is developing as an educational hub, is proving itself to be a superior college by achieving outstanding results in a short period since its establishment. 

Three students from Aarambha College's BHM (Bachelor of Hotel Management) and BITM (Bachelor of Information Technology Management) programs, Second Semester (Batch 2024), have succeeded in achieving excellent results.

Aarambha College secured the first position in Chitwan district for BITM and the second position in Chitwan district for BHM. BITM student Sejal Khadgi topped Chitwan with a CGPA of 3.84, while student Saurav Poudel became the second topper in Chitwan with a CGPA of 3.76. Similarly, BHM student Sabin Shrestha became the second topper in Chitwan with a CGPA of 3.83. The college principal, Suraj Shivakoti, informed that Aarambha College previously achieved fifth, fourth, and third positions in Nepal in TU's BHM program.

Affiliated with Tribhuvan University, this college operates Bachelor of Information Technology Management (BITM) and Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) programs under the Faculty of Management. In the previous year's BHM first-semester exams, Sabin Shrestha was first in Chitwan district and third in TU with a CGPA of 3.98. BITM student Sejal Khadki was also first in the district last year with a CGPA of 3.84.

In the first semester of the college's establishment year, BHM student Nwang Bamjan Tamang secured Nepal's fifth position and Chitwan's first with a CGPA of 3.92. In the second-semester exams, she achieved Nepal's fourth position and Chitwan's second with a 3.94.

The Journey Ahead is Towards Gold Medals

Due to its distinct style and objectives since its inception, Aarambha is seen as the first choice for student enrollment and parental interest. Principal Shivakoti informed that the four-year undergraduate curriculum for BHM and BITM involves a total of eight semesters, with two semesters per year. He stated that students who score at least a D grade (1.8 GPA) in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) can easily enroll in this college after passing the CMAT exam following Grade 12. Principal Shivakoti expressed that they are very encouraged by the results achieved since the college's establishment and that the journey ahead is to make their students first in TU and win gold medals.

Principal Shivakoti further informed that an internship arrangement is made for the last two semesters of the BHM program, and Aarambha has already signed an agreement with a Nepali company that collaborates with 43 five-star hotels in America for such internships.

Dipendra Subedi, Head of the BHM Department at Aarambha College, stated that the college is progressively improving its results and moving towards achieving the first position in TU. He asserted that looking at the current trend of results, there is a high probability of easily securing the first position in TU in the coming days.

Jhavilal Bhusal, Head of the BITM Department at the college, mentioned that since the college's establishment year, last year, and this year, BITM students have secured the district's first position, indicating a strong possibility of achieving high ranks in TU in the future. Department Head Bhusal also informed that besides the TU curriculum, Aarambha College's BITM program includes studies in subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Machine Learning.

Aarambha Leading Educationally

Aarambha College has received permission to teach a total of 132 students under Tribhuvan University: 66 in BHM and 66 in BIM. Aarambha College commenced its services in Bhadra, 2080 BS, in Bharatpur, the center of Chitwan, which is becoming a central hub of the country. Aarambha College, located near Naharchowk, Ward No. 11 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, was established in 2079 BS by ten education enthusiasts—five from Chitwan and five from Kathmandu. The individuals involved in the college's management and operation have over two decades of experience working in the education sector. The teachers are also experienced and energetic.

Principal Shivakoti states that the BITM and BHM academic programs under the Faculty of Management will fully qualify, enable, and make students successful in technology and hotel management. He said, 'By projecting practical, theoretical, and timely international-level skills, this institution will become a prime option for industries in this sector, giving it a distinct identity in society, and we are confident that it will take the educational leadership of Chitwan.'

The excellent results of the students studying at Aarambha College have further broadened the college's identity. Parents are also satisfied with the level of academic achievement at Aarambha.

Principal Shivakoti mentions that in the first semester exam of BHM right after Aarambha College started, the college's student Nwang Bamjan Tamang topped the district with a GPA of 3.92. She secured the fifth position across the country. This achievement helped elevate Aarambha, says Principal Shivakoti.

In the BHM first semester, Aarambha's Nebika Mainali secured the second position in the district with a GPA of 3.91. Ojaswi Acharya from the same batch scored a GPA of 3.81, Angita Adhikari scored a GPA of 3.78, Sandhya Gole scored a GPA of 3.75, and Arsiya Banu scored a GPA of 3.69. Parents are happy with these results.

Well-Equipped Building

All classrooms in the five-story Aarambha College, spread over ten thousand square feet, are fully air-conditioned. There is another building of ten thousand square feet. The college has a seminar hall, labs, and a library. Principal Shivakoti informed that there are plans to construct a futsal court, basketball court, and swimming pool. He stated that initiatives are being taken at local and international levels for internships. He said, 'The college's goal is 'Study while you Earn'. The current time is for management combined with information technology. Therefore, Aarambha College has emerged as an opportunity for students.'

The Chairman of the Aarambha College Management Committee, Surendra Subedi, is also the Principal of Kathmandu Model College. He claims that Aarambha College imparts education through a combination of attitude, skills, and knowledge. Chairman Subedi stated that the college was brought into operation in Bharatpur with the objective that students wishing to pursue higher education in Chitwan would not have to go to Kathmandu or abroad. He informed that the college has put forward sports, literature, and creative programs for the intellectual and physical development of students under extracurricular activities, alongside academic and moral aspects.

Emphasis on Collaboration

Aarambha College has arranged scholarships in collaboration with wards, rural municipalities, municipalities, or metropolitan cities. The college stated that the scholarship designated by the local body is fully implemented. Principal Shivakoti says the college is committed to promoting self-employment along with effective education within the country. He mentioned that the college counsels parents against the mental stress caused by sending their children abroad for studies. The college stated that it has arranged specialized labs for students studying BHM and BIM and provides subject-specific training and instruction to the students.

Considering that Chitwan district is becoming a hub for health and tourism, Aarambha College has been establishing partnerships with relevant employer associations with the vision of developing it as an educational hub in the coming days. Principal Shivakoti informed that Aarambha College has so far partnered with Idea Studio, Lead Ex Nepal, Fourth Valley Concise, and Robotic Association of Nepal. He said, 'Aarambha College is contributing to making Chitwan an IT hub and a tourism hub.'

Different Education System

Aarambha College, which teaches by presenting course materials on digital boards to students in air-conditioned classrooms, has arranged bus facilities considering students coming from far away. Since classes are conducted in the morning, the slogan 'Study while you Earn' has been adopted as an effort to connect students who wish to work during the day with subject-specific organizations for income generation, the college stated.

The Aarambha Innovation Hub is operational at the college, where students have formed 13 groups and are conducting various programs that support their studies. In the past, under the Aarambha Idea Station, a one-day program was held declaring Chef Santosh Shah as the Brand Ambassador of Aarambha College. Under the Aarambha Entrepreneurs Forum, a program on 'Creating Startup Culture' was organized in collaboration with the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
