Maoist Leader Prachanda Pledges to Make Rukum East a Model District for Development

Rukum East. CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has announced that Rukum East, which served as the base area for the People's War, will now be transformed into a model district for development. Addressing public meetings and interactions organized in various locations of Sisne Rural Municipality in Rukum East, he recalled his decades-long emotional connection with this region.

Stating that he first came to this area 41 years ago, Prachanda mentioned that he led the People's War based on the foundation of Rukum and Rolpa, and coming here now has given him new energy. At the programs held in Khupichara, Khara, Bhing, Pokhara, Sisneri, and Dhape, he described the enthusiasm of the people as a victory celebration.

Prachanda interpreted the current election not merely as a routine process but as a specific political competition that will determine the nation's future. Claiming that the battle in the election is between three different ideologies, he stated that the people must decide between the forces that incite murder, violence, and destruction, and the forces standing in favor of good governance and the republic.

Hinting at the violent incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 last year, he called for the defeat of the tendency to kill people and commit arson, and for the victory of the force engaged in the campaign against corruption. He argued that this election is the link to save the country from disaster.

Stating that his party firmly stands in the national campaign against corruption and for good governance, Prachanda expressed confidence that the people will support the positive force. Emphasizing that the election must be fair and free from rigging, he expressed trust in the security agencies.

Saying that despite geographical and physical difficulties, reaching the people has politically refreshed him, he reiterated his commitment to dedicate all his strength to the development and prosperity of Rukum East.
