Communist Movement in Serious Crisis, Reorganization Essential, Says NCP (United) Chairman

Kathmandu. Chandra Dev Joshi, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (United), stated that the country's communist movement is in a serious crisis and that its complete reorganization is imperative. He made this statement on Tuesday while unveiling the party's manifesto.

He accused the current political parties of being engrossed only in power and power-sharing, announcing the formation of a new political force comprising honest and 'non-bribetaking' individuals. Chairman Joshi commented that while issuing manifestos globally is a common practice, parties that have come to power in Nepal have failed to maintain any alignment between their commitments and their actions. He pointed out that even if long-term goals cannot be achieved in five years, progress should begin in the right direction from the day they attain power, which has not happened.

Joshi concluded that the culture of 'power-sharing' flourishing in Nepali politics has led the nation toward ruin. He stated that the partisan distribution of positions, from judges and ministers to constitutional bodies, has corrupted the very psychology of society. Chairman Joshi announced collaboration with the faction led by leader Ghanashyam Bhusal to advance the communist movement from a new starting point. He declared that the party's main slogan will now be 'Let's build a party of non-bribetakers,' representing the working class and intellectuals.

His main agenda is to pull the communist movement out of the quagmire and reorganize it on the foundation of honesty and trust in the people.

Chairman Joshi stated that he views the current election as an opportunity to educate the public. Expressing the commitment that honesty and dedication will be the party's future direction for protecting nationalism, achieving economic prosperity, and building socialism, he clarified his support for Ghanashyam Bhusal's leadership for the purification of the communist movement.
