Chennai. Aided by a magnificent century from Yuvraj Samiara, Canada set a target of 174 runs before New Zealand. In the Group D match of the T20 World Cup, Canada, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, scored 173 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Samiara contributed 110 runs off 65 balls. In the process, he hit 11 fours and 6 sixes. This is also the highest score made by any batter in the T20 World Cup. For the first wicket, he shared a partnership of 116 runs off 84 balls with captain Dilpreet Bajwa. Bajwa scored 36 runs with the help of 4 fours off 39 balls.
