Nepal's Foreign Minister Arrives in Dhaka for Bangladesh's New Government Swearing-in Ceremony

Dhaka. Nepal's Foreign Minister, Bhalananda Sharma, arrived in Dhaka late Monday night to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government of Bangladesh.

Foreign Minister Sharma and the Nepali delegation were warmly welcomed by the Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Nepal has sent a high-level representation to welcome the new government being formed following the 13th parliamentary elections held in Bangladesh.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had congratulated the government and the people of Bangladesh on the successful completion of the parliamentary elections. In a congratulatory message issued via the social media platform Facebook, Prime Minister Karki also extended special congratulations to Tarique Rahman for leading the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) towards electoral victory.

In her message, she described the BNP's victory as 'praiseworthy' and expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would deepen in the coming days.
