India Dominates Pakistan with 61-Run Victory in T20 World Cup Group A Match

Kathmandu. India registered a victory over Pakistan in Group 'A' of the T20 World Cup 2026. India managed to secure its third consecutive win in the tournament by defeating Pakistan by 61 runs.

Chasing the target of 176 set by India in the match held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan was bundled out for 114 runs in 18 overs.

With this victory, India has secured the top position in the table by accumulating 6 points from three matches. Pakistan, on the other hand, has accumulated 4 points by winning two out of three matches.

Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Opener Ishan Kishan played an explosive innings of 77 runs off 40 balls, pushing the team into a strong position.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav supported with 33 runs off 29 balls before getting out while attempting a big shot. Tilak Varma scored 25 runs off 24 balls.

Other batters failed to perform as expected. Abhishek Sharma was out for zero off 4 balls, while Hardik Pandya returned to the pavilion without opening his account on the first ball.

For Pakistan, Saim Ayub bowled excellently, taking three wickets and creating pressure early on.

Pakistan's batting looked weak while chasing the target of 176. Pakistan was all out for 114 in 18 overs, giving India an easy win. Usman Khan contributed the highest score for Pakistan with 44 runs off 34 balls, while Shaheen Afridi remained unbeaten on 23.

With this result, India has maintained its dominance in Group 'A' and taken a strong step towards the semi-finals.
