One Dead in Motorcycle Collision on Koshi Highway in Sunsari

Sunsari. One person has died after two motorcycles collided with each other on the Koshi Highway in front of the Jute Mill in Duhabi-8, Sunsari. Police stated that 49-year-old Tirth Narayan Yadav, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, died in the accident that occurred on Friday evening.

Yadav, a resident of Phulhara-3, Saptari, was currently living in the quarters of Reliance Factory in Itahari-13. He was rushed to Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital for treatment in a critically injured condition. Doctors declared him dead after examination.

According to Chandra Khadka, spokesperson for the District Police Office Sunsari, the motorcycle with registration number Ko 27 P 8134, which was exiting the iron factory onto the Koshi Highway and heading towards Duhabi, collided with the motorcycle with registration number Pr 1-02-052 P 3059 coming from Khanar towards Duhabi. Police have taken both involved motorcycles into custody.

Police have taken into custody the driver of the motorcycle Ko 27 P 8134, 45-year-old Suman Rai, a resident of Duhabi-8, and the driver of Pr 1-02-052 P 3059, 47-year-old Jayanarayan Sah, a resident of Rupni Rural Municipality-3, Saptari, currently residing in Itahari-13. Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
