Maoist Leader Prachanda States Struggle Has Entered Phase of Production and Prosperity

Rukum East. The Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' stated that the struggle initiated during the People's War has now entered the phase of production and prosperity.

Addressing a program organized today in Khabang Bagar, Bhume-2, Rukum, on the occasion of the 30th People's War Day, he mentioned that the demands raised by the new generation are a continuation of the People's War. "The demands raised by the Gen Z generation are a continuation of the issues raised during the peace process but could not be fulfilled due to the balance of power," he said, "Issues remain, the account of dreams has not yet been settled, and we have not forgotten that."

Mentioning various reform efforts made in the decade since the promulgation of the constitution, Chairman Dahal informed that when he was in government, a policy and budget were introduced to provide land to five lakh landless squatters within one year. He stated that although laws were amended for this purpose, the program was halted after he left the government.

Noting that the entrepreneurship program targeting youth returning from abroad has not gained expected momentum, he said that the next war will be linked to production. He claimed that more than 2 million jobs and self-employment opportunities could be created in sectors including information technology, tourism, and agriculture within the next five years.

Sharing the experience that good programs could not be effectively implemented due to the inability to run a stable government for five years, Chairman Dahal stated that efforts to merge agencies with dual responsibilities, remove duplicated programs in the federal structure, and reform the policy-budget process remain incomplete.

He mentioned that he had repeatedly warned that rising misgovernance and corruption could push the system itself into crisis due to public anger, claiming that the current situation is a result of that. "My fight today will be for the prosperity of Rukum and the overall development of the country," he said. He emphasized the need for new energy, a production-oriented campaign, and national unity to protect democratic achievements and fulfill the incomplete agendas.

'A Strong Future Can Only Be Built by Connecting History and the Present'

Chairman Dahal expressed his belief that the nation's future can only be strengthened by connecting history and the present. He mentioned that February 1st is not just a remembrance of a glorious past but also a guide for present responsibilities and the future. He stated that on this day, the Nepali people ignited the torch of historical rebellion in favor of freedom, equality, and justice against the feudal state power.

Calling Rukum East the land witnessing revolution and peace, he recalled that the rebellion against the hereditary system of governance began from this very place. He stated that February 1st is the day when women threw off the veil and raised the voice for freedom, when indigenous communities struggled for identity and self-respect, and when the Dalit community raised their voice against caste oppression.

On the occasion of People's War Day, Chairman 'Prachanda' honored the families of martyrs and the injured. At the program organized today on the occasion of the 30th People's War Day, he and party leader Pampha Bhusal honored the martyrs, families of the disappeared, and the injured.
