Traffic Disruption Near Kathmandu Airport Due to Former King Gyanendra's Motorcade

Kathmandu. Traffic management in areas surrounding Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu has been affected due to the motorcade of former King Gyanendra Shah.

Traffic police stated that vehicular movement was diverted at various locations due to the rally taken out in the area surrounding Tribhuvan International Airport.

Vehicles traveling from Gaushala towards Gopikrishna via Chabahil in Kathmandu were diverted from Gaushala towards Old Baneshwor and Ratopul. Vehicles coming from Chabahil towards Gaushala are operating normally. Diversions were implemented because the rally was taking place from Gaushala towards Chabahil.

Cargo vehicles were sent from Maharajgunj towards Bashundhara and from Koteshwor Chowk towards Balkumari. Due to this, vehicular congestion is being experienced in the areas of Sukedhara, Gopikrishna, Chabahil, Mitrapark, Jayabageshwori, Gaurighat, Gaushala, Ratopul, Setopul, Battisputali, Old Baneshwor, Bhatkeko Pool, and Sinamangal Chowk.

Traffic police have requested drivers of vehicles operating via Maharajgunj, Sukedhara, Chabahil, and Gaushala to use alternative routes if possible.
