New Zealand Dominates UAE with Massive 10-Wicket Victory in T20 World Cup

Kathmandu. New Zealand has continued its winning streak in the T20 World Cup, registering its second consecutive victory. In the match held on Tuesday, New Zealand defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by a massive margin of 10 wickets.

New Zealand comfortably chased down the target of 174 runs set by the UAE at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai in just 15.2 overs without losing any wickets. Openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen played explosive innings in New Zealand's win.

Seifert scored an unbeaten 89 runs, while Allen remained not out on 84. The 175-run opening partnership between these two is the largest ever by New Zealand openers in T20 World Cup history. UAE bowlers looked helpless against their aggressive batting.

Earlier, having won the toss and elected to bat first, the UAE posted a challenging total of 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Although UAE captain Muhammad Waseem scored 66 runs and Alishan Sharafu contributed 55 runs, it was not enough for a victory.

New Zealand bowler Matt Henry took 2 wickets, while Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, and Glenn Phillips each took 1 wicket.

With this win, New Zealand has climbed to the top spot in Group 'D' standings. New Zealand, which has accumulated 4 points from two matches, will next compete against Canada and South Africa in the group stage. South Africa is currently in second place in this group.
