Bhatbhateni Supermarket Reopens in Koteshwor After Gen-Z Protests Destruction

The Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Koteshwor has resumed operations. Among the 12 Bhatbhateni Supermarkets destroyed during the Gen-Z agitation, the one located in Koteshwor reopened on Saturday. Inaugurating the reopened supermarket, Managing Director Min Bahadur Gurung prayed to God that such an incident never happens again in Nepal in the coming days. He stated that although the act of setting fire to Bhatbhateni during the Gen-Z agitation was unfortunate, he is not one to dwell on regret. Managing Director Gurung also announced that the other 11 destroyed Bhatbhateni outlets would also be brought back into operation soon. He claimed that the unfortunate incident of the Gen-Z agitation would bring good not just to Bhatbhateni but to the entire nation of Nepal. Managing Director Gurung expressed his belief that just as Japan rebuilt after being destroyed in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Nepal, which was devastated by the Gen-Z agitation, will now become better. He said, 'Oh God, may this never happen again in my country Nepal. And what I say to the general Nepali public is that Nepal should become better now. It must become better. Bhatbhateni bore the heavy brunt of the accident that occurred in Nepal. Even after suffering that, Bhatbhateni has kept its courage—one Bhatbhateni that hit zero has risen. Now gradually, all will rise soon. Not just Bhatbhateni, but Nepal itself will rise. Nepalis create their own things; we have the courage and the capability.' During the Gen-Z agitation on Bhadra 23 and 24, property belonging to individuals, including 12 Bhatbhateni Supermarkets, was destroyed, causing billions in losses.
