Twelve Candidates Vie for Single House of Representatives Seat in Bhojpur Ahead of February 21 Election

Bhojpur. Twelve candidates from 12 political parties are in the electoral field for the House of Representatives election scheduled for the upcoming Falgun 21 in the hilly district of Bhojpur.

With only one constituency for the House of Representatives in Bhojpur, candidates and political parties are currently engaged in door-to-door campaigns with various assurances since filing their nominations. As the election date approaches, candidates from the parties are now focusing on rural areas. While the hustle and bustle in the district headquarters is decreasing, the election fervor is increasing in the villages. While the District Election Office, security agencies, and the Office of the Chief Returning Officer are busy preparing for the election, the parties are busy wooing voters to their side.

In the upcoming election, Sherdhan Rai from the CPN (UML), Balkrishna Thapa from the Nepali Congress, Ajambar Rai Kangmang from the CPN (Maoist Centre), Ramesh Prasad Ojha from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dhurbaraj Rai from the Shram Sanskriti Party, Dewanraj Rai from the CPN (Maoist), Gopal Kumar Rai from the Janata Samajbadi Party, Janak Nepal from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Jitendra Rai from the Rastriya Parivartan Party, Rajaram Basi from the Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party, Chandraprasad Rai from the Mongol National Organization, and Yuvraj Thapa from the Aam Janata Party are in the electoral arena.

In Bhojpur, which has nine local levels, 87 polling stations and 161 polling centers, including temporary ones, have been established. The total number of voters in the district is 125,766, informed Dikendra Prasad Subedi, Chief of the District Election Office, Bhojpur.
