CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda Predicts Party Could Emerge as Number One After Elections

Kathmandu. The Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has stated that there is a possibility of his party emerging as the leading party after the elections on Falgun 21.

He made this statement while addressing a cadre gathering and training program organized by the Rukum East-Kathmandu Liaison Coordination Committee on Friday.

He mentioned that if the elections are held in a clean, impartial, and fraud-free manner, the CPN has the potential to become the number one party.

Chairman Prachanda also stated that the country is moving in the direction they intended, and although the atmosphere is set for elections, some people are creating excuses to say elections won't happen, while another group is trying to capture the elections.

'What I see is, I cannot say for the Communist Party of Nepal in the proportional representation system, because there is a wave for the new parties,' Prachanda said, 'but we will be ahead in the direct elections. If we all work hard by combining direct and proportional representation, there is a possibility that CPN will become the number one party.'

He added that if the CPN can become the number one party, they can lead the country towards the dream of prosperity in the next 5 years.
