CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel Warns Against Populism and Anarchism Threatening State Stability

Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel stated that populism sells simple answers that destroy complex problems, and anarchism considers the system itself an enemy. He further argued that when both combine, the state weakens, and citizens become divided.

On Tuesday morning, posting on social media platform Facebook under the heading 'Today's Patriotic Issue,' he emphasized the need to adopt critical thinking to prevent Nepal from becoming a playground for geopolitical conflict, to separate fact from emotion, and to keep dissent within democratic methods.

"To save the nation is to save the glorious Nepali identity, to save the constitution is to save inclusivity, and to save the federal democratic republic is to save the future," said General Secretary Pokhrel. "The problem lies in political instability. It lies in social chaos."

Globally, the issue of protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity has become highly sensitive.
