A Historic Victory and a Grand Reward

In a major announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared a cash prize of 51 crore rupees for the Indian women's team for winning the 2025 Women's World Cup. This reward is for the players, the management team, and the selection committee. In addition to this prize from the BCCI, the team will also receive the winner's purse of 4.48 million US dollars, which is approximately 40 crore rupees, from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Celebrating a National Achievement

The President of the BCCI, Mithun Manhas, released a statement congratulating the Indian women's cricket team on their historic World Cup victory. He said that the team's resilience, talent, and unity have inspired the entire nation. He also stated that this victory confirms that the BCCI's investment and belief in building a world-class women's program are on the right path. The BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia, added that this achievement is the result of continuous preparation, excellent performance, and the unwavering self-belief of the women cricketers.

The Winning Match

India became the world champion by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final match. The game was held on Sunday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, with an audience of over thirty-nine thousand fans cheering them on.

A Landmark Title

This victory is especially significant because it is the Indian women's senior team's first-ever World Cup trophy. While India had previously won the Women's U-19 T20 World Cup in 2023, this is the first time the senior team has clinched the top prize in world cricket.
