Home Minister pledges to be tougher against antisocial motive

 

Kathmandu – Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said of late some people are active with the intention of bringing instability in the society in the veil of religion, pledging to interfere in such motive. 


During his meeting with a delegation that reached his office to submit a memorandum on behalf of various 48 religious organisations demanding action against those involved in the gunfire attack on Hindu priest Balsanta Shreeniwas Acharya in Biratnagar last Sunday, the Home Minister said the police had already arrested two suspects in the incident and a search for other possible perpetrators is underway. 


Terming the incident as a sad one, the Home Minister said securities bodies have been directed to probe the case and brought guilty to book."Some forces who want to push the country towards instability by provoking conflict in the society in the name of ethnicity and religion, but the government will intervene in such efforts." 


During the meeting, the delegation also demanded free treatment for injured Acharya from the government level. ---
