PM's visit historical and successful: FM Gyawali

New Delhi – Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's state visit to India has been historically successful.

Talking to media representatives in the PM's entourage, including RSS, at the Rastrapati Bhawan on Saturday, Foreign Minister Gyawali said that the relations between the two countries has taken a new height based on the one-to-one and delegation-level talks held between Prime Minister Oli and his Indian counterpart. "Open and clear deliberations were held on all issues of mutual concern and that is expected to lead to positive results," he said.

Important agreements were also held on the support required by Nepal to achieve prosperity and realize its slogan of 'happy Nepalis, prosperous Nepal'. The Foreign Minister said that stress was also laid on bringing down Nepal's increasing trade deficit with India, including to facilitate access of Nepali goods to the Indian market.

Both the heads of state have emphasized on ensuring that there are no hurdles in implementing the past commitments and agreements, and mobilizing every possible mechanism for the same. "The visit has been successful in further institutionalizing the successes achieved by Nepal", Foreign Minister Gyawali said.
