Deuba terms white paper 'fabricated'

Kathmandu –Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the white paper about the nation's economy that was issued by the government recently is 'fabricated' and 'misleading'.
While inaugurating the sixth National General Convention of Nepal Sarbajanik Sewa Karmachari Sangh here today, the erstwhile Prime Minister refuted the NC role, as reported in the white paper, in bringing the nation's economy to the current situation.

"It lacks credibility." The governments formed after the 2006 people's movement in the country were mostly headed by leftists, he said, adding that the leftist governments in the past had roles in pushing nation's economy towards deterioration.
He took the time to claim that he would take the party to the first position within the next five years.
"The CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Center) achieved better results in the recent elections as they had an electoral alliance," said the president of the main opposition party.

Also speaking on the occasion, party central member Dr Shekhar Koirala presented a different reason behind the 'unexpected' results party achieved in the recent three-tier elections. The party had to suffer a defeat as the party leadership failed to make people aware of its contribution to development endeavors in the country. He stressed the need for working though a new way to regain party's image.
